Jeanette Fessler, MA, RVT
Campus Director Admissions
Jeanette Fessler serves as the Campus Director, Dean of Academics, and Admissions Representative at Metropolitan Veterinary Academy. With over 30 years of experience in veterinary technology and education, she brings a deep commitment to student success and academic excellence. Jeanette holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology. Her leadership and dedication continue to shape the Academy’s mission of preparing the next generation of veterinary professionals.

The Academy has been approved and maintains annual licensure with the Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools (OBCCS) in the State of Ohio.

Shannon Rozar , RVT
Lead Instructor
Shannon Rozar, RVT, brings a decade of experience in general veterinary practice. She is passionate about patient care and education, with a focus on surgery and dentistry. Shannon oversees AAHA and OSHA standards, serves as IACUC Chair, and manages USDA program compliance.
A lifelong Ohio native, Shannon is dedicated to supporting student growth and success. Outside the classroom, she enjoys camping, video games, yoga, and family time, sharing her home with four ferrets—Slinky, Max, Ruby, and Lilly.
Katie Parr
Instructor
Katie Parr is a Veterinary Technician Instructor with hands-on experience in the veterinary field and a passion for helping students build the skills they need for successful careers. She enjoys making clinical concepts practical and relatable through real-world examples and hands-on instruction. Katie recently earned her Bachelor's degree while continuing to work full-time in veterinary medicine, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning. Outside of teaching, she is a dedicated cat mom and wife who enjoys reading and spending time with her large extended family, especially her nieces.
Katie Mooney, RVT
Adjunct Instructor
Katie Mooney brings 18 years of experience teaching Veterinary Technology and is passionate about educating and inspiring the next generation of animal care professionals.
A devoted mom and wife to her high school sweetheart, Katie takes pride in her three children, who are at the center of everything she does. She is also a proud dog mom, sharing her home with two French Bulldogs, Stewart Milton and Norma Jean. Beyond her career, Katie is the founder of The CLEKindness Collection, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals in need and spreading compassion throughout the community.

Vanessa Guarnera
Operations Coordinator
Vanessa Guarnera brings 23 years of experience with federal government at the Department of Homeland Security, where she oversaw finance, travel, and internal audit programs. She supported senior leadership and collaborated across Training, Compliance, and Operations to ensure organizational effectiveness and accountability.
Bridget Carlson
Student & Career Services Coordinator
Bridget brings nearly ten years' experience in education, from teaching to career advising, including a Master's degree in English. She is excited to help students navigate their academic journeys! She and her husband, Sean, have two cats, Lucy and Bowie.
Emma Metzler
Admissions Representative
Prior to becoming an Admissions Representative, Emma spent three years coordinating the Emergency and Intensive Care Units at a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital and has more than six years of experience in the veterinary field. She is deeply passionate about veterinary medicine and enjoys sharing her experiences to inspire future veterinary professionals and demonstrate the meaningful impact of the profession. Emma is also a Fear Free Certified Professional and is passionate about promoting Fear Free practices that reduce stress and create positive experiences for both pets and their owners.
She has a special interest in herpetology, a passion that is reflected in the frog-themed trinkets displayed on her desk. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, running, and painting.
At home, Emma shares her life with three beloved pets: Lonnie, her 14-year-old Leopard Gecko; Soup, her one-year-old Pacman frog; and Mustard, her six-year-old Sulcata Tortoise.
